For this first exploration term of our six school years, I started in Dinosaur exploration. In this exploration, our goal is to find dinosaur footprint to proof in there’s Dinosaurs in Cambodia and shear with Cambodian and everyone around the world. Our group focuses on location in Batt Dong Bong province name Ratanak Mondol. We knew this location because of Ministry of mine and energy, on 2015 department of mine and energy of Thailand work our mine and energy Cambodia to find Dinosaur footprint in Cambodia. After searching they found a place name Rattanak Mondol in Bot Dong Bong province. They claim that there’s Dinosaur footprint but, they never continue the project because both sides are busy. On April 2017, a group of Geology of Cambodia exploration when to interview the minister of mine and energy about landscape which includes me in the exploration. Before the interview ended the minister gave information about the project that he works with the department of mine and energy of Thailand, he reflects that he was busy with his works so he can’t continue the project so he wants our Liger student to work on that project because he sees our potential. After we came back from the meeting we passed the dinosaur footprint project to Mr. Jeff who’s our teacher manager, Mr. Jeff was surprised and seem interesting, so he created Dinosaur Footprint exploration for students. In the exploration we have 13 students, in the group,
I think only me and Panharith who knows a lot of geology stuff more than others students because we both were in geology exploration last round. On the 1st of September 2017, our team was on the bus to go to Rattanak Mondol which located in Batdonbong province. On our investigation to find dinosaur’s footprint at Battambang province we need many supplies such as plaster of Paris, clay, measuring tapes, brushes, and cameras to take pictures; which we followed the geologist field method. First of all, we get of our van to explore the area; we had found many sites that we suspect to have the dinosaur’s footprint. After knowing the specific site of footprint, we divided into three teams to explore and did the field method to collect data about the footprints. Here is the template:
The field method is providing us to understand about the footprint and we can easily interpret the type of dinosaurs. Moreover, in the method, we record the specific location using the longitude and latitude in GPS. Additionally, in the method, we need to add the rock type too because it could help us within the past environment when dinosaurs are around in Cambodia, so in answers, the rock type that we found is primarily sandstone. Which we can interpret that the dinosaurs in Cambodia were living near the coastline, which is where the rock is formed. Furthermore, we need to take pictures of the footprints and marked the tape in order to organize with the footprints; taking pictures is really helpful because we can send those pictures to the paleontologist, so they can help us whether it is dinosaur’s footprints or not. In class or outside of we always film our self because if we are the first one to find the footprint in Cambodia, the documentary going to be great. We also make a website to share with the world about our project. After collecting all footprint data we make a report, during all class period we tried to contact to paleontologist because they are the big evident to proof this is a real dinosaur footprint. So after the seventy weeks, 10 of us still working on it as expertise because we are passionate about it.
